SUMMARY:
•Conceptualise and produce up to date monthly Beauty Features that adhere to the style and tone of the magazine, and in line with the international editorial principles
•Develop and maintain professional relationships with beauty clients/advertisers, beauty houses, and readers
•Professional represent and be the ‘face’ of the beauty department at social and work events
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS:
•The Beauty Editor reports directly to: the Magazine Editor (for briefs and/or editorial direction), the Group Beauty Director (for beauty product direction), and the Managing Editor (for schedules and deadlines).
•In addition, the Beauty Editor will liaise with the Art Dept.
Skills Required
REQUIRED SKILLS:
•Have at least 2 years experience in the beauty industry;
•Have a demonstratable excellent knowledge of beauty products;
•Have a good knowledge and keen interest in both beauty and fashion trends;
•Be able to write accurately in the style and tone of the magazine — only submit copy once all the facts are verified and correct;
•Be competent in the following software: Microsoft Word, Internet and email;
•Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, creative initiative and passion for the brand;
•Be able to work well under pressure and meet deadlines;
•Be proactive and able to work independently and with guidance from the Group Beauty Director;
•Be keen to learn and flexible — with a willingness to adapt, cut or expand copy if that becomes necessary.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

•Able to work outside or regular hours, on occasion, to meet required deadline or as a job requirement
